God who is also the Son came to Earth and was born as a helpless baby, grew up the way every other human does, went through all the temptations as every other human and maybe more because Satan knew who He was, and then sacrificed Himself so that we may have a chance at salvation. Wow!
How many other gods would do that? The answer is none. For one, there are no others gods, but God. Two all of those other gods always ask us to do to something drastic such as kill others or sacrifice ourselves for some type of salvation.
God asks us to spread His word, baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, love everyone as we would want to be loved, treat others as you want to be treated, and pray for everyone especially our enemies. Most other gods ask you to kill/destroy those that go against their religion. What a difference!
God asks us to believe that Jesus was His Son, that He died for each of our sins, and on the third day He was raised from the dead and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God. God also asks us to confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and that he was raised from the dead. God also asks us to confess our sins to each other and to pray for one another. God asks us to forgive those who trespass against us and He will forgive us.
There is nothing that God asks us to do that is impossible for us. It is more of that we do not want to do it. If each of us did everything that God has asked of us, then the world would be so much better, but Satan and our flesh gets in the way.
We who call ourselves Christian need to be a Living Sacrifice:
Romans 12 New International Version (NIV)
A Living Sacrifice
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
This is difficult because of our flesh and Satan. However, we need to consecrate and offer ourselves to God. That is a Living Sacrifice. Sounds easy, dosen’t it, but it is anything but. My suggestion is to pray to God to for help in this matter because you will not be able to do it on your own.
