Being Deceived

I believe that there is a leader who’s whole purpose is to lead the people away from God to their side. Most people call this leader the Devil, Satan, The Father of Lies, The Great Deceiver, etc. However, there are many people out there that do not even believe that God exists.

If I go with the premise that they are right and that God does not exist and I have been deceived by Biblical Leaders, then lets evaluate what the Bible says.

Taking out anything related to God or Christ, here are just a few of the things that Bible says

  • Mans heart is wicked
  • Treat others as you want to be treated
  • Love your neighbor as yourself
  • Do not lie
  • Do not steal
  • Do not commit adultery
  • Do not murder
  • Do not bear false witness against your neighbor
  • Do not be jealous of your neighbor
  • Do not covet your neighbor’s wife
  • Serve others
  • Help those that are in need

If the Bible were truly written by humans it would not say any of those things, but be more focused on yourself. Typically, the focus is always on ourselves and how we can better ourselves. So is the Bible wrong and are we really being deceived to believe in a God that does not exist? I find that hard to believe.

Now lets take a look at the other side and assume that there is a God and all those who do not believe are being deceived. Of course this is my opinion, but it seems to be true.

  • Focus only yourself
  • Do what ever it takes to win
  • Lie if you need to lie
  • Steal if you need to steal
  • Cheat with that persons husband or wife
  • Only give respect when you get respect
  • As long as your happy, then do what you want
  • Try to make as much money as possible
  • Try to be as successful as possible

If you are thinking that is kind of harsh, then I ask you to just open your eyes and observe what is going on around us. When are people more happy, when they are getting what they want or when they are helping others? Most of the time it is when they are helping others.

You may be asking who is being deceived then? Great question. The answer is a simple one, all of us. We all have strong opinions about things such as:

  • Gun Rights
  • Equal Rights
  • Equity
  • Vaccinations
  • Fairness
  • Freedom of religion
  • Freedom of speech

This list could go on and on, but I think you get the picture, but again I ask you to open your eyes and see what it is really going on.

I am passionate about people doing the right thing such as using turn turn signals, driving without using their cell phones, drive in the left lane on the major highways, drive past tractor trailers versus slamming on your breaks, drive on and let the person who wants over get at the end of the live versus slowing down or even stopping on a major highway to let them over, stopping at stop signs and red lights, going when the light turns green, driving in one lane versus two, looking around to make sure the way is clear, and on and on. So for me this is a hot topic and one that lights my fuse often. Should I get mad probably not,

There is one that does not deceive and never will, He just puts out the truth and it is up to us to accept it or not and that is God who originally did it by speaking to people directly, but now does it through Jesus Christ.

You can accept or reject this notion that there was a a messiah who came to Earth to save us and give us a more abundant life free from deception, free from lies, free from slavery, free from ________. The choice has always been yours.

The first thing you have to do is realize that you have been deceived and are no different than any other human. God will forgive, so take that first step.
