Time for God

I’ve been a slacker recently when it has come to posting.  It is as though I have put God on the back burner because there is so much going on in my life.

What a dumb move.  God should never come second.  When God is in our lives and we are consciously seeking Him, then things go much smoother.

When we make God play second fiddle to our lives, then our lives typically become a royal mess.  Don’t believe me, then try an experiment.  Leave God out of everything and see what happens, then earnestly involve God in everything and tell me which way is better.  I have a feeling you will be convinced that when God is involved in our lives because we are seeking Him, then things have a tendency to work out better.

Notice I did not say that they will work out the way you want, but that they will work out better.  God’s way is not always our way.  We should be seeking God’s will in our lives versus our own desires.

It is difficult to do, but this is the route each of us needs to take.  You may think that it is simple and in concept it is.  Just do God’s will, but the fleshly desires and Satan’s lies always seem to get in the way. Which is why this verse is so important:

Matthew 6:33 New International Version (NIV)

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
