Face the Truth

So many of us lie to ourselves or others, or we want to be lied too.  However, at some point in time while we are alive on this planet or at the “Pearly Gates”, we will have to face the truth.  I personally would rather face the truth now versus later, but hey that is just me.

There a many Bible verses about truth, but I will just post a few of them:

1 John 1:8 New International Version (NIV)

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

1 John 4:6 New International Version (NIV)

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

John 1:17 New International Version (NIV)

17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

John 8:32 New International Version (NIV)

32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The last verse is a biggie for me.

Facing the truth to means that I take an honest look at myself so I can know who I really am.  Without understanding who I really am, how can I ever expect to change?  Nothing in your life will change until you know and face the truth.  You need to face your weaknesses, your relationships, your successes and failures, and your past and future.  The truth is found in Jesus Christ.

Why is Jesus the truth?  It is simple, He will never lie to you unlike Satan.  By facing the truth, you will ultimately be set free.  I know this is a hard concept to understand, but it is the truth.  I suggest that you read the Bible to get a full understanding.
