Change Takes Time

There is one thing that humans are good at and that is being impatient.  When we pray to God, we expect immediate answers.

When we want to lose weight, we expect it to happen overnight.  When we want to get fit, we expect it to happen even faster than losing weight.

When we want to change anything in our lives, we get very upset when it does not happen on our timeline.  What we fail to realize is that the best things in life take time.

A Redwood does not grow overnight, but it is an amazing sight when fully grown. To lose the weight and really keep it off, it takes time.  To build relationships is an ongoing process.  To build a house takes months or even years.  A baby takes about 9 months.

So if you really want to change, then let God do it in His own time.  Whenever you are feeling like the change is not happening fast enough, remember this one thing.  The best things take time to develop.

My advice is to pray to God and ask Him to help you with patience.  Believe me, He will oblige that prayer.  You will be confronted with more challenges that will test your patience than you could ever imagine, but in the end, it will all be worth it.
