God is Love

As I mentioned yesterday, it seems like there is so much hate in this country. A lot of people also feel like God hates them because He disciplines them.

I ask you to think about it this way. If we let people do as they want, then what is to prevent that person from hurting you or someone else? This is why we need to be disciplined.

God wants all of us to spend eternity in Heaven with Him, but He cannot be in the presence of sin. So if God does not discipline us, then what incentive is there for us to turn away from sin?

The reality is, there is nothing that would make us turn away from sin. So I ask you this, does God hate you or love you? The answer is He loves you and never forget that.

We need to get over this concept that if someone loves me, they will let me do as I wish. Love is actually letting a person know when they have done something wrong. Love is being honest with those around you. Love is disciplining those who need it when they need it. Love is also patient, kind, etc…, see 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

Love is not beating those in our lives. Love is not abuse. Love is not intentionally hurting others. Love is not selfishness. Do you get the picture?

If you are struggling with this, then I really urge you to pray to God for help. He can help if you really want it, but it will require you to change. Do you want to show love towards your fellow human? If yes, then take that first step.
