Everything we do requires some kind of sacrifice. It may be time, money, energy, or even your life.
You do not have to agree with me, but it is true. The other part of that is if you do provide a sacrifice for what you believe in, that which you believe in will become the sacrifice.
Now you may be going huh? I’ve got know idea what you are talking about.
Take the Constitution, it requires a sacrifice to keep that philosophy alive. If you do not provide the sacrifice it requires, then that Constitution will become the sacrifice.
Still do not understand? Well lets take it one step further. The Constitution guarantees the right to freedom of speech, but there is a group that is trying to shut this down.
Why would they want to shut down the first amendment? It is about control. If you can control freedom of speech, you can start to control the people. But that is going off on a different path and will be discussed later.
Now lets look at Christ. He sacrificed himself, not to control us but to set us free. You may be thinking are you on crack? How does His sacrifice set us free?
Well grasshopper let me explain. Something needed to be sacrificed for our sins. The typical sacrifice for a sin offering was a lamb, but that would require a lot lambs. We could try to sacrifice ourselves to pay for our own sins, but that would be meaningless as it would result in our death to pay for our sins and it would get us no where. So to provide us the chance at salvation and to pay for everyone’s sin, Christ became the ultimate sacrificial lamb and died for each of us so we would not perish. Now do you understand?
