When things do not go as we want or as we expect, we often will blame God. I know I’ve done it and I often wonder why. I guess because it is easy to do or we know He is in charge and could have easily prevented it from happening. God does not want us to hurt, but that does not mean He will not let things happen in our lives to make us more humble or in such a bad position that the only place to turn is towards God.
There are a lot of things we forget when we feel like God is not present in our lives.
- We told God to go away and while it may have taken a while for Him to do so, He will.
- We are often guided by our fleshly desires and what our flesh wants is almost always in direct conflict with what Gods wants.
- We forget that Satan is present and trying to manipulate our relationship with God. In other words, Satan is trying to destroy your relationship with God which will lead you to death and spending eternity with him in the Lake of Fire.
The ironic thing is that those that weather the storm that has come your way will often come out having a stronger relationship with God than ever before. However, some of us are not strong enough to handle any type of storm and at the first hint of one turn and run away.
What I am saying is stop blaming God, start taking responsibility for your actions, and be strong through Jesus to weather any storm that comes your way. Now with that said, these are not easy to accomplish if you are not willing to put forth the effort.
So I am going to urge you to pray and even fast if you need too, to develop that relationship with God. Just remember that God is not wish fulfillment entity and He has a plan for you, if you are willing to follow the path He has already laid out for your life. If you expect God to just grant your every wish and desire and then get upset when He does not, then I can tell you right now that you will always be disappointed. All I can say is ask God for help and mean it.
