Have you ever had a day or days where everything just seemed to go wrong? This is my week for that. This is what has happened since Sunday:
- I have spilled a bucket of water/cleaner everywhere in the bathroom and hallway.
- The refrigerator door shelf retainer has popped off at least 3 times causing all the contents to go everywhere.
- I spilled bottle of liquid that was worth 22 dollars.
- I’ve almost tripped over an Ethernet cord.
- I banged a piece of furniture into my daughters car.
- It is raining so hard that there is water next to the house.
- I found out the newest HDDs I have for my media server does not have the same read/write technology as the other drives and is therefore not compatible.
- I’ve cut my legs twice because of something protruding in the path I am walking.
- I am not sleeping well.
There are about a dozen other things that have gone completely wrong and I am very frustrated.
Could this be a trial? I do not know. Could I be under attack? I do not know. What I do know is that God has said:
Philippians 4:6-7 English Standard Version (ESV)
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
James 1:2-4 English Standard Version (ESV)
Testing of Your Faith
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 English Standard Version (ESV)
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
It is difficult during these times to not be anxious, to be thankful, or to be joyful when all you want to do is scream out in anger. These types of situations are very frustrating for most of us and we just do not understand why they are happening.
Do not worry, because I do not have the answer, but there is one that does and you know what I am going to say. Take all of this to God in prayer. God does not expect you to handle these situations alone, but rather bring it to Him and let Him handle it.
The first step being thankful or having a peace that is beyond understanding is you must seek a relationship with God and one of the ways to do that is through prayer. Another way is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
You can continue to try to make things right by your powers or you can let God help. The choice is yours. Choose wisely
