So many Christians and others who believe in God, but are not Christian ask the following questions:
- Is God really in control?
- Why do bad things happen to good people?
- Why is our country in a state of chaos?
- Why are there evil regimes throughout the world?
- Why is there pestilence, famine, disease, etc.?
- Why did the Republicans win?
- Why did the Democrats win?
- Why did God create this group or that group?
- Does God really love me?
- Will God accept me as I am?
- Why must I believe in Jesus to be saved?
- Are we all going to Heaven?
This list can go on and on as far as the questions that we could and do ask God, but are we allowed to do so? Yes.
You will however, have people tell you to never question God. Well that is not true. We can question Him, but it just depends on if and/or when will He answer, it depends on the type of question that is asked, and it depends on how the question is asked.
Asking God “Can you please kill so and so?” is not likely to happen. Asking God “How can I change to become a better representation of Christ?” is more likely to get answered if you are sincere.
If you are going God never answers my questions, then it is time to look at the questions you are asking. In others words, if we really want God to answer our questions, then we need to stop the stinkin thinkin and ask God the right questions.
I pray that you are asking the right questions, but if not, then I pray that you change your questions to bring glory to the Lord. Remember, it is not about changing others since that only God can do, but rather it is about changing you so that God is pleased with whom you are.
