My rights versus yours

I have discussed similar things in the past, but it seems to be getting worse. God has given you all the rights you are entitled to have, but we want to ignore those.

Now when Pilgrims came over and then they were followed by other colonists, they were under British rule/supervision. As time went on, they got upset with the British government and hence we had the Revolutionary war. When the Declaration of Independence was signed, it declared our freedom from British rule. Roughly 20 years later, the Bill of Rights was signed to prevent the same things from happening again. Shortly after that, the Constitution was signed and that is what we go by today.

Why did I bring up all of this, it was to show that man has written a set of rules that govern our rights as supposedly free people, but God has already provided you the ultimate path to freedom.  Anyway, back to purpose of this post.

Over the weekend a former Saints football player was shot and killed senslessly by another. Now the Saints coach is basically saying that all guns should be removed because he hates them and cannot believe this is what our forefathers could have expected.

Sorry coach Peyton, but I do not care if you hate guns or not.  As a citizen of the United States of America , I am allowed to have a gun and if you do not like it, then do not buy one.  You mention England, but like so many other ignorant people, you only present the information you want all of us to see. England has over 100,000 stabbings a year, but I see you failed to mention that.  Plus, our forefathers grew up in a time of violence, do you really think they only thought the guns would be used to protect and not to potentially kill innocents? If we go by your suggestion, then you will have a situation where the physically strong would prey upon those who are weaker.  Finally, I hate sports so should football, basketball, hockey, soccer, racing, baseball, etc all be removed. By your suggestion, yes. These sports have hurt a lot of people those who played, those who supported, and those who watched all for senseless entertainment.

The solution is simple, but the act takes great courage that is highly frowned upon in today’s society and that is to pray to God and ask for help. However, do not get discouraged if the answer is no, or maybe, or wait to your prayer. It is not our prayer, but God’s response to righteous prayer. So read the Bible, start a relationship with Christ, start a relationship with God, and try to live as God wants you to live.
