Sinning is easy

As a Christian, have you ever thought about the sins you have committed and how easy it was to commit them?  If not, let me tell you that sinning is very easy.  If you are thinking, sure it is with sarcasm, then let me point it out to you.  If you are not a Christian, then some  of what I am going to say may seem unimportant or confusing to you, but before you dismiss it, really think about how your life is going.

Have you ever:

  • Had another god before God?  If you answer no, think hard.  I bet the answer was yes.  Worshiping money, or work, or items, or whatever is putting another god before God.
  • Been jealous of another person?
  • Hated another person?
  • Lusted after another person or committed adultery?
  • Used the Lords name in vain?
  • Remembered the Sabbath day and kept it holy, but instead decided to do other stuff on this day?
  • Been drunk in public?
  • Honored your mother and father?
  • Bared false witness against anyone?
  • Stolen anything?
  • Done something that you know is wrong?

Living according to the flesh is so easy.  We think this gives us pleasure or fulfills our desires, but the reality is that living this way actually leads us away from God and leaves an empty spot that cannot be explained.  Satan has lied to you in that by making you believe behaving in this manner will fill in that emptiness your are feeling, but the reality is the emptiness cannot be filled by anything other than God.

Sinning is like eating food.  When we eat something that is addicting to us such as carbohydrates/sugar, our body craves it more and more to the point where we are fat.  Sin is no different.  When we sin once, I believe that our body craves it more and more to the point where we are far removed from God and His presence.   This removal causes us to have an empty feeling as stated above, but by listening to Satan we think all of the Worldly and Fleshly desires will fill that void.

The choice is yours.  You can find out what Gods will is for your life and live according to that plan or you can go off on your own and try to figure it out.  If you decide to try to figure it out on your own, be prepared to learn through the most difficult and painful process humanly possible.  I have been there and experienced some of it, but when I rely on and pray to God and follow His will, my life seems to go so much easier whether the rest of the world does or not.

As a non-Christian, are there areas in your life which seem to be going astray?  If so, does it really hurt you to put your faith into a Supreme Being that you cannot feel or touch?  I urge you to give it a try, but when you do, do so with faith.  If you go into it with the attitude of I will see if God does something for me first then I will believe, this may backfire.  Change your attitude even if for a brief second and sincerely ask God to help, you might just be surprised at what happens.
