What is God’s will for you? I cannot answer that question, but I can tell you where to start, and that is to read the Bible.
You maybe going great, another person who is telling me to read the Bible. Are you confused about what God wants for you? Are you asking the questions about why are you here and what is your purpose?
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The best place to get your answers is to know the one that created you. You may be going I am trying to get to know Him, but He does not respond or I do not hear Him. God over the course of years provided information to those that wrote it down and put it into a format that we can understand. Why are you resisting reading the Bible?
Is the Bible to hard for you to understand? Is it to boring? Is it _____________ (fill in the blank)? As you start to read, sure some things will seem confusing or even difficult to understand at first, but there are many people who have written commentaries on the very passages you are reading.
You have to decide if the research is worth the effort to understand God’s will for you. I know many people who refuse to read the Bible, but expect God to spontaneously provide them with all the answers. God will do so in His time and at His pace, but He also expects us to do our jobs and study and to follow His word.
So while I told you to read the Bible, I also told you some of God’s will for you and that is to read and follow the Bible. The rest of God’s plan for you will be revealed at His leisure.
I pray that if you are having a hard time reading and studying the Bible, that God gives you peace and patience to do so. I also pray that God will reveal His will for you in a way that you can understand.
