I am so sick and tired of hearing about equality and inequality. The world has had and always will have inequality. We all die at different ages. We all have different size families. We all have different material goods. We all gain weight differently. We all look different. The list could go on and on, but that gets the message across.
I have been hearing so much about woman inequality and how they deserve equal pay, blah, blah, blah. If two people are qualified with the same experience and education, then the initial offering should be the same, but once that offering is made, then it is up to each person to negotiate their value.
What I find funny about woman wanting equality is that they want it at no cost. They think they can yell, scream, hit, and abuse men without any consequences for their actions. If a man retaliates, then a man is considered weak or non-chivalrous, but the reality is that maybe we are just tired of being treated as though we are inferior.
Yes you could call that irony as woman felt inferior to men for a very long time, but do two wrongs make a right? The answer is no. In my opinion, it is not equality which is so important, but mutual respect.
Lets face it, is it really fair that athletes, movie stars, and musicians make more money than our teachers and pastors. These entertainers do just that, entertain; however, our teachers/educators and pastors are about providing us mental, physical, and spiritual well being.
I saw Hope Solo on TV and she thinks it is unfair that woman athletes do not get the same pay as men. There are many factors that could influence this such as how much are the tickets? Are the women’s sports watched as much as men’s? Do advertisers pay the same amount for women’s sports as men’s? Is the attendance rate the same? If they are not, then how can women expect to be paid as much as men? I remember the woman’s college basketball team in the town where I live and at one time the tickets were free because the attendance was so low. My daughter said the woman’s basketball tickets are like $5 now, but the men’s tickets are all over the place starting around $40.
I do not see a lot of men out there complaining about affirmative action which has discriminated against men for years and made it non-EEOC complaint. This one act has caused so many qualified men to miss out on opportunities, that it is unreal. All of this was done in the name of diversity and to promote fairness, but it has done the exact opposite. Yes there are a few cases where men have complained and filed lawsuits, but they are rare. Instead, we the men have adapted and opened up our own companies, become consultants, etc. We have basically said eff you world. If you want to screw us over that is fine, we will adapt. All I see from so many others is whining about how unfair it is.
So to all of you that think you are not being treated fairly, think of Christ and how unfair it was for him to die for your sins. Think of the 3 people who were given different levels of talents based on their ability. Think of how some people prosper, but others do not. Think of Lazarus who was poor, hungry, homeless, and in poor health often begging for scraps. All of these are examples in the Bible where inequality exists. God has never said that everyone will have the same amount of food, clothing, money, possessions, etc. In fact, the Bible says that some will be blessed more than others. Oh the horror to think that there is even inequality from God.
How are we all equal in God’s eyes. He did say that we are all sinners. He forgives us if we forgive others. He provided us an instruction guide on how to live. He provides each of us with food, clothing, and shelter. He loves each of us despite what we may have done. He did provide a way for all of us to be saved through Jesus Christ. He has made promises to each of us that He keeps. Finally, He provides each of us with spiritual gifts. I am sure there other ways in which God treats us all the same, but these will work for now.
So stop complaining about equality. To be honest, if we want equality, then each of us deserves death for our sins. We deserve to carry a cross and be crucified.
