I saw a movie recently called “Hacksaw Ridge”. In this movie, Desmond Doss ends up saving 75 lives.
Desmond Doss keeps saying “Lord please help me get one more”. Just think if every Christian did this, but instead of trying to save lives, we tried to introduce them to Christ so their soul can be saved.
The only way to introduce people to Christ is to start acting like Christ. This means that we love people regardless of what they have done. We care about what hurts them and try to help anyway we can. We do not expect something in return when we help another. We are not selfish. We forgive others for whatever debt we think they owe us.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? It is not since most of the time we live according to the flesh and the flesh is almost the exact opposite of how Christ acted. If it were easy, all of us would be doing it, but we are not.
Then we have Satan who is constantly feeding us lies and we have a tendency to believe them. Everyone thinks that it is easy to ignore Satan, but again if that were true all of us would be doing it.
Before you go thinking that I act like Christ, I can tell you that I do not. Sure there are times where I do, but it is bits and pieces. I have a tendency to judge people rather harshly and I know that I will be judged according to how I judge others.
Do I want to change? Absolutely, but the only way is through Christ because I sure cannot do it on my own.
