About a week ago I tore my pectoral muscle. It hurt. I tried to lift the same weight a few minutes later to see if it was really torn. I was able to lift the weight, but it hurt. I dropped the weight down and tried and it still hurt. I decided then to stop lifting for about 2 weeks to give it time to heal.
While we need some time off to heal, I am so thankful that God is there all the time. God never takes time off, but could you imagine what the world would be like if He did. I am convinced it would be far worse than it really is.
Now Jesus healed people of their diseases, sicknesses, sufferings, their physical handicaps, their physical injuries, and their mental disorders, but I do not recall Him ever healing anyone spiritually. Why? Glad you asked. Remember the Christ took all of our sins when He died on the cross, so in a way He has already healed us Spiritually.
Could He have healed all of us spiritually and it be done? Absolutely! So why didn’t He just do that? We need to ask and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. If He heals our spiritual issues without us asking, it will almost be like free will is gone. Once you are healed spiritually, I personally believe that your mind opens up to the truth. Instead of us asking it would have been given and that would have proven nothing on our part.
God wants us to seek Him and ask Him for help. Sure we can read the Bible, attend church, hang out with other Christians, but that just prepares us it does nothing to actually heal us. We cannot heal ourselves spiritually. Sure people can be healed spiritually in Christs name, but that needs to be done with extreme care as it can lead to further complications down the road.
We need to seek God through Christ. We need to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. We need to accept that He died on the cross for my/your sins descended in to Hell. We need to accept that Christ arose from the dead to ascend into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God. With all of that you will have true spiritual healing.
