Why do people think it is ok to break the rules and not have any consequences for their actions?
Yesterday a person was parked in a handicapped spot. He had no sticker or tag. I asked him if he was handicapped and his reply was I am waiting for someone. Excuse me, where does it say you may wait in a handicapped spot. I told him to move the vehicle because he knows better than to park in a handicapped spot or I would call the police. Then he got mad and wanted to know why I was talking to him that way. I told him that I did not care and to move the vehicle. Let me get this straight, you are the one that is breaking the law and doing something wrong and yet you are mad at me. He decided to be a jerk and sit there. So I told my wife to call the police and got out to get his tag. Then he decides to pull out, but immediately backs right into the same spot. His friend comes out and acts all tough. The police are on the phone at which point he pulls out and leaves and unfortunately they cannot do anything.
Then we have this police officer who apparently has murdered someone. I cannot say for a fact, but am going based on the media and we all know they report everything correctly 100% of the time. If this is the case, then this policeman needs to go to prison for life if not get the death penalty.
There is an attitude in America that I can do what I want, when I want and how I want without there being any consequences. No you cannot. Recently there was a lady walking in the middle of the road and it was reported to the police. I am not 100% up on the story at this time, but she decided to give the police trouble at which point they asked for her ID and then she decided to give them more trouble. There was comments about how we are allowed to walk where we want, etc because it is America. No you cannot. You cannot walk into the Oval Office when you want, you cannot walk into a prison when you want, you cannot walk into any home when you want. If there is a sidewalk, use it. Why do you have to walk in the middle of the street where the vehicles are trying to go form point A to B. They cannot drive on the sidewalk if they feel like it without there being consequences so why should pedestrians be any different.
Then we have these criminals that resist arrest and yet if a policeman uses excess force, whatever that may be, then everyone wants their head or if someone feels threatened and they kill in self-defense then everyone wants the laws changed and that person thrown in prison. People have more sympathy for the criminals these days than those who are law abiding or who are sworn to uphold the law. I am sorry, if you want to stop getting hurt/potentially killed then do not commit the crimes.
Are blacks targeted more than whites? I cannot say, but it seems that in some cases blacks are committing more violent crimes than whites. Is this 100% true, of course not. There are white people who are just as violent as blacks. Maybe the media is keeping the white violent crimes down played, but I do not know. It just seems that what you hear most is the black violent crimes. Then you have the Hispanic violent crimes and they seem to be worse than either the blacks or the whites, but again you do not hear about those much. Then again when something happens to a white person or even a Hispanic person there does not appear to be all this rioting and mayhem as there is when something happens to a black person. You are destroying your own community, so stop.
With the above said, it should be noted that the black person who was shot by the police in Minnesota and the protests afterwards were relatively peaceful. That is the way to be heard because every time something happens to a black person and you in turn react violently, it gets you heard alright, but in such a way as to confirm everyone’s thoughts about this is how blacks are. Just so everyone understands there is no difference between any of us other than our skin color.
I do know that there were Federal laws put into place for certain crimes that could not be changed to make it a more fair system. That is the color was taken out of the equation. However, our Attorney General from a decent source stated that he told the Judges of the Federal Courts not to follow those laws because they were unfairly targeting blacks. What? If everyone receives the same punishment for the same crime, then how can that unfairly target blacks or any color? Again we are back to some people do not think they should be punished for their actions.
When I look at a person I do not look at your color nor do I judge you based on your color. You are a human being. This is not color blindness, I see that you are white, black, olive, etc. I judge based on what you do and what you say. You act like a thug I treat you like a thug, you act like a nice person I treat you as a nice person. you act like you are above the law and break it, I treat you like a criminal. In other words you are no better nor worse than anyone else in the world so stop thinking you are so special that you can do what you want, when you want, and how you want and start following the rules that are established. Without laws or rules, we would have complete anarchy.
If you do not like the laws, vote the law makers out and get the laws changed. Do not just decide I do not like this law so I am going to break it. Do not think you are so special that you can do whatever you want and there will be no consequences for your actions. Society will teach you differently and that is why we have so many people incarcerated at the moment.
Christ told all of us to love God with all our heart, mind and soul and to love our neighbors as ourselves and God gave us the ten commandments as well the other Moses Laws for how we should live. Furthermore, Christ said to follow the laws of the land in as much they do not contradict God’s laws. So why do people still feel like they can do what they want? The answer is simple, Satan. With this I am reminded of
Ephesians 6:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
I pray this touches your heart and before you decide to just go do whatever feels right you seriously think about the consequences both in this life and the next. If I had to choose I would be looking at how does my action affect the next life.
