Hatred

Hatred in this country is rampant. Don’t believe me, then ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do you get angry when a person disagrees with you?
  2. Do you start to call them names when they disagree?
  3. Is your first response to hurt the person?
  4. Do you want to see harm come to them?
  5. Do you want vengeance for what the person believes?
  6. Do you want the person to be ruined?
  7. Do you want them to go to Hell?
  8. Do you think they are unworthy of Heaven?

If you answered yes to any of these questions or if you can think of others that you would say yes too, then you may hate the person. But why?

I have been called many names in my life because I disagree with someone. My usual response is “That is your opinion.” Sometimes I get mad, but a lot of the times I will just shrug it off and go on my way.

For those that spread the tolerance philosophy, then practice what you preach. If I disagree with you, it does not mean I hate you or I am angry with you or anything negative. It simply means I do not agree.

Today we were discussing inflation and minimum wage. One person said that inflation is due to supply and demand. My opinion is that people think that by raising the minimum wage, we will fix some of the problems. This is completely wrong. Raising the minimum wage will cause inflation. The reality is, those who want the minimum wage increase do not really care about equality, but getting more taxes to support their programs, but I digress. The point was to say that I disagreed with the one guy who equated supply and demand to inflation only. Yes, that can be part of it, but when the supply is large, then why isn’t there deflation? Do not say there is because there typically isn’t.

My point of the story was to say that even though we walked away with different opinions, we were not ready to hurt each other. We just have a different opinion.

By this same philosophy, when God disagrees with your choices, then you are saying God hates you, but God is love and therefore this is a contradiction. God may not be happy with your choices, but that does not mean He hates you.

So if you struggle with hatred, I urge you to think about why. You can change your heart if you want too, but it will not be easy and will require help from God.
