Do you praise God ever? Why or why not? Is it only when good things happen? Why?
I find that people will praise God when things are going great in their lives, but as soon as things turn bad (by their opinion), they are ready to curse God or blame Him for everything. It is absolutely amazing.
Job said it best:
Job 2:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”
And then we are told to give thanks in all circumstances, not only when things go the way we want them to go.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
It is hard to give thanks in times of trouble, but that is what we must do. If you are wondering why I say this, well it was not me but the Lord who said this.
In these times I urge you to pray and if that does not work, pray some more. Then above all else pray some more, but do not curse the Lord. Instead seek out why this is happening. God always has a plan and we just do not understand what it is most of the time.
