Sometimes the simple things are best. My web hosting company merged with another. Now the navigation to get here to post is very painful.
This is true in our relationship with God. Jesus told us to become like little children.
Matthew 18:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
It does not mean act like a child, but rather accept like a child. Most children are very accepting and adaptable, but adults are not. Life experiences have made us suspicious, bitter, hard, unadaptable, quick to blame, etc. All of this can make us very complicated.
There is a philosophy called the KISS principle with stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. It could have other meanings, but this is the one I heard most. The meaning of this is easy. The more complicated things become the more likely they are to break. That is exactly how our relationship with God has gotten so messed up. We have complicated it to the point where it is no linger simple.
My advise is stop, just stop. Stop complicating your relationship with God. Keep this in mind, He is our Lord, our Creator, the Almighty. He is not your best friend whom you hang with at the local pub. If you can remember who He is, then I firmly believe the relationship will become simple once again.
