White Privilege, White Privilege, White Privilege. This is all I am hearing about these days.
My niece accused my sister and her husband of white privilege and my sons girlfriend accused her parents of white privilege. They are both wrong. Someone who works hard for the things they have is not privileged. My niece was privileged because she was living at home for free, but that does not mean the bills go away, they are still paid. My sons girlfriend was privileged because her parents paid for her education, but that does not mean it was free.
Where is white privilege when some is not hired because they are white? What about when you cannot get a scholarship because you are white? Or you cannot get subsidized loans because you are white? Or you are shot by the police after reporting what looks like a crime because the police officer was nervous? Or being knocked out or even killed by a group of thugs because you are white?
Right now everyone seems to hate white people especially white males. Why? Because we are to blame for all the problems, or so the politicians and media would have you think.
Do we call it Asian privilege when Asian parents pay for all of their child’s stuff? What about when blacks or Latinos or any other race/nationality does it besides the white person? No!
People right now are angry because 4 officers have apparently killed a black male. I say apparently, because we do not have all the facts/evidence. We only have what the media and politicians want you to see to create chaos/anarchy.
Be angry, but do not sin in your anger. Demand justice, not vengeance. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Forgive those that have wronged you.
These are what the Bible tells us to do and I know they are not easy to do. If they were easy, we would just do it and move on, but we are guided by our flesh and we listen to what Satan is whispering too us.
All I can say is take a step back, take a deep breath or more, and pray to God to help you. Ask Jesus to enter your hardened heart to learn to forgive and let God handle it as He sees fit. I know that God works in mysterious/weird ways according to us, but He can use all situations for His glory.
The question you have to ask yourself is can you forgive these for men? Do they deserve a chance to go to Heaven? The answer to both questions had better be “Yes”. If you said “No” to either question, then I am going to encourage you to look deep into your own heart because you will be condemning yourself as well.
