I need to get over myself. I am a bit angry with God because of what is happening, but as I was reminded today during my rant, while God is ultimately in charge, He has given reign to Satan for now. This means that Satan is in charge and God is basically hands-off .
With Satan in charge look at what is happening around the world. We either have anarchy or chaos around the globe. Governments are either trying to control their people and they are resisting or they are pulling out completely and leaving man to control himself.
Do not believe me, just look at NYC. It is in complete anarchy. The police are trying to do their jobs, but no help from the government. In fact many police have had to pull out of certain areas for fear of being hurt or killed. NY has very strict gun laws, but shootings and homicides are way up and it will only get worse as the mayor has decided to reduce the police budget.
Next we have have Hong Kong. Hong Kong government was trying to push through the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill. This bill which has been aborted for now would have allowed extradition to jurisdictions with which Hong Kong did not have extradition agreements, including mainland China and Taiwan based on Chinese, not Hong Kong laws. This has resulted in complete Chaos.
This is nothing new
Isaiah 3:5-8 English Standard Version (ESV)
5 And the people will oppress one another,
every one his fellow
and every one his neighbor;
the youth will be insolent to the elder,
and the despised to the honorable.
6 For a man will take hold of his brother
in the house of his father, saying:
“You have a cloak;
you shall be our leader,
and this heap of ruins
shall be under your rule”;
7 in that day he will speak out, saying:
“I will not be a healer;
in my house there is neither bread nor cloak;
you shall not make me
leader of the people.”
8 For Jerusalem has stumbled,
and Judah has fallen,
because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord,
defying his glorious presence.
Proverbs 25:28 English Standard Version (ESV)
28 A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls.
Proverbs 28:2-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
2 When a land transgresses, it has many rulers,
but with a man of understanding and knowledge,
its stability will long continue.
3 A poor man who oppresses the poor
is a beating rain that leaves no food.
4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked,
but those who keep the law strive against them.
5 Evil men do not understand justice,
but those who seek the Lord understand it completely.
6 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity
than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.
7 The one who keeps the law is a son with understanding,
but a companion of gluttons shames his father.
8 Whoever multiplies his wealth by interest and profit[a]
gathers it for him who is generous to the poor.
9 If one turns away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer is an abomination.
10 Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way
will fall into his own pit,
but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance.
11 A rich man is wise in his own eyes,
but a poor man who has understanding will find him out.
12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory,
but when the wicked rise, people hide themselves.
Romans 13 English Standard Version (ESV)
Submission to the Authorities
13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
Fulfilling the Law Through Love
8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
There are many verses about chaos and anarchy, but none of that really matters. Christ said there are two things we need to do.
Matthew 22:36-40 English Standard Version (ESV)
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
So I need to get over myself and when I am angry at who God put in charge, I need to remember to love my neighbor, which is everyone, as myself. I also need to remember that God puts all leaders in place. We just may not know or understand why at the time.
Are you struggling with how the world is right now? I will guess that most people are and they are confused because they are wondering why a loving God is allowing such things to happen. Remember this, God has given reign to Satan. Yes this is a repeat from above. So it is not God who is causing the problem, but Satan. Lets put the blame where it really belongs.
I need to change my attitude, about loving others, and trusting/relying upon God, but I need your prayers to do so. So please pray for me.
