There is a war going on that every person is part of whether they want to be or not. This war is more spiritual and is a fight between Heaven and Hell. Just because Satan was tossed out of Heaven does not mean the war is over. In fact, He even has restricted access to the heavenly realm as seen in the book of Job.
Some of you may be thinking yeah right. I cannot see it, therefore it is not happening. Well you cannot see everyone that is killed, but that still happens, you cannot see people robbing others, or helping another, but those still happen. Just because you did not see it does not mean that it is not happening. You have a choice to either accept this fact or reject it.
As in any war you can be a civilian or part of the military. If you are a part of the military, then you are a soldier for Christ and God. Remember the song “Onward, Christian Soldiers”? As a soldier multiple things can happen.
Fight back: You armed and ready, keenly aware of what the enemy is going to potentially do. It does not mean that you will come away unscathed, but you are willing to fight.
Not fight while a soldier: If you do not arm yourself and fight for yourself and others so that they will know God and Christ, then you become a target and eventually a victim. You can potentially also make other people as targets
Become a casualty: As a solider whether you fight or not, you can become a casualty. But the type of casualty depends on what you did. If you have accepted Christ and acknowledge that He is the Son of God and on the third day He arose from the grave and now sits at the right hand of God, then as a casualty you know what wll happen to you, and if you survive , you know you will be right back there in the trenches fighting for Christ. If you decide to turn your back on Christ and are ready to lay down you weapons because it is scary or you want no part of it, but you are still there as a spectator, then I pray you change, because I fear there may not be much hope.
Flee from the whole thing: You desert, that is you just completely run away from the situation, then you are basically saying Satan you win. However, anyone who knows why Christ died on the cross, knows that the war has already been won. You are really saying God I want no part of you and your plans.
Can I say with 100% certainty, that those who desert or lay down their arms are going to Hell, no. I do not speak for the Lord. However, I do believe this to be the case based on information taken from the Bible.
I pray that you become a soldier for Christ and tell the world about Christ and what He has done for you. Yes it may be scary, but give that to the Lord and He will make you stronger. I also pray that those people who are so scared that they are ready to quit can gain enough strength to turn away from that desire and stand up and fight for Jesus. Does He really need us to fight for Him, no. However, it does show Him how much we love Him. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
