I know God has made us in His image and since then mankind has tried to explain the differences between man and woman. People have written a lot of books on the subject. For example “Men are from Mars, Woman are from Venus”.
My wife and I have been talking a lot about this recently. She has also been talking with her friends at work about the differences between man and woman. But why are we so focused on these differences versus just embracing and accepting the fact that we are different? I have no idea.
Woman seem to get upset that a man can lay down and go to sleep within seconds of their head hitting the pillow. Man seems to be able to let things go much faster and we seem to get over things faster as well. Man will generally focus on one thing at a time to get it accomplished before moving onto the next task. Man seems to handle some forms of pressure much better than woman. So why are woman seemingly upset that we can do these things?
Understand, I am not bashing on women. The above statements are a generalization that I have observed. Of course there are always those that are exceptions. Is it that man can do these things an woman cannot? I do not believe so.
I believe it is a matter of choice. My wife tells me she cannot turn off her brain when she goes to bed and I have to ask why? She has to play a mindless game to the point of where she is ready to go to sleep, where I find it incredibly easy to just shut things from the outside world off. She on the other hand can do some of the most tedious boring things like “Candy Crush” that would drive me up the wall.
I have no idea if that was part of God’s design or if we have just come to expect women to behave a certain way and men another. In fact, when a woman acts like a man in some ways we say she is cold. Why? It is do to the expectation we have put forth for the woman.
There is one thing that woman are great and it is where most men failure and that is nurturing and protecting their young. Get between a child and mom and watch what happens. You can see it in nature all the time. A mom will die to protect her child.
No matter what our differences are, man needs a woman and a woman needs a man.
