Society will have you believe that porn does not hurt, but the reality is, it does. If you are thinking how so, then let me just ask these questions
- Do you expect your spouse or significant other to behave as you see in the porno?
- Do you think the porn you are watching is now normal?
- Do you get your thrills from watching others do whatever sex act?
- Are you no longer intimate with your spouse or whomever?
- Do you still have an active libido yet because you have watched porn you really want nothing to do with your spouse or whomever?
- Would what you are watching be considered perverse according to your parents or other important people in your life?
- Can you wait to see your spouse or significant other, but you cannot wait to see what your favorite porn star is doing?
- Are eager to get home to watch your porn, but not go out and socialize?
- Does porn influence your emotions in a negative way?
- Is your spouse or significant person upset with you for watching porn?
- Are you on the verge of being depressed?
- Are you about to lose everything?
- Are you growing disinterested in seeing people engage in sexual activity after watching porn for so long and need harder and harder stuff?
- Are you addicted and cannot stop watching porn even for a day?
- Do you look at all people you are interested in as sexual conquests
I am sure there are many more questions that could be asked, but if you answered yes to any of these and you are watching porn on a regular basis, then it could be hurting you.
Do you want to stop? It will be a difficult road ahead of you and it not as simple in some cases as simply getting rid of the computer as seen in the movie “Fireproof”. Although that will probably help for the short term.
What you need to do is get down on your hands and knees and pray to God and not only ask Him for forgiveness, but the strength to avoid using porn ever again. No matter what anyone tells you, porn while it will give temporary enjoyment, is going to hurt you in the end. You need to resist the Devil and yes He is involved in porn, and He will flee.
I pray you have not only the strength to resist this temptation, but you also have the strength to resist the Devil, and can humble yourself enough to ask God for help. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
