Recently I heard the question are you jealous of others sins? It stopped and made me think. So many people get upset when a person who has lived a life that was supposedly free or without inhibitions and have committed sins through most of their life have now come to Christ and are saved.
They view this as being unfair making statements like “They got to live their entire life as they wanted and now they come to God when they are done with that life or are about to die”. So you have to ask yourself am I one of those people and why am I upset? You too chose how you wanted to live. You decided to live for Christ and/or God from an early time, so stop being mad or whatever you want to call it when a person who has lived a “fun life” becomes saved. You should be rejoicing that they have repented and are now saved.
Also ask yourself, what about their life makes you jealous? Do you wish you would have lived as them? They could be an alcoholic, drug user, thief, murderer, rapist, etc. Doesn’t that sound like a great way to live? So stop and be thankful that you recognized and understood how God wanted you to live very early on.
If you are having problems with being jealous over how others have lived their life, then I urge you to pray to God to seek wisdom. Realize there is nothing in another persons life to be jealous over.
