Difficult People

I am sure if you ask someone that knows me, they will tel you I am difficult to deal with.  To be honest it is true, at times.

I have argued with my parents to defend the Republicans and argued with my wives parents to defend the Democrats.  Why?  Because to be honest there is not a lot of difference in either party these days.  If you think they are for you, think again.  Both parties represent big business and it is a matter of where do you fall as to whether you think they are supporting you or not.

Tonight I was at a party for a friends birthday who happens to have also moved into a new house today.  Another friend/acquaintance was there who is really very anti-political and wants to fall off the grid completely.  I can agree with most of what he says until he starts to make outrageous claims because it was on the internet.  To me this man who is very intelligent, but is also very difficult to deal with.

He made some comments tonight and my rebuttal was that just because you heard it does not make it any more true than the fact that I did not hear it.  My advice to anyone who reads or hears anything on the internet is to follow the money.  The source of the money will tell you the real motive of the information

I have gotten slightly off track.  There are those people whom you think are difficult to deal with and it was no different in Jesus’s day.  In those days He had to deal with the Sadducees and Pharisees as well as those that thought they were to righteous to be seen with sinners.

Jesus held some more accountable than others because they were the educators and they were teaching partial truths.  He called them out for this and eventually it cost Him His life.  Now that was the plan all along because Jesus had to die for our sins so we would have a chance at salvation.  Of course God could have chosen another path for us to enter Heaven, but this was what He chose.

How do you deal with difficult people?  You could argue back with them like I did on those points that are absurd or you could just love them and not worry about it because they are not going to change their minds through words, but through actions.  If you love them, then eventually they will ask why and then that gives you an opening to introduce them to Christ.

It is not always easy and the right path can be easily forgotten when caught up in the moment.  If this happens to you, like it happened to me tonight, then ask God for forgiveness and ask Him to help you with the next encounter and to continue to love that person who is difficult to deal with.
