College Football (nothing to do with God)

I have not watch Pro sports of any kind in probably 5 to 8 years.  I gave up on that aspect of sports when I started to notice certain trends thinking that it was all fixed and I am still convinced it is fixed.

I have watched some college football this season, but I am done with that sport as well until they get this targeting crap and other issues under control.  I understand protecting the players, but they have basically reduced the ability of the defense to not hit anyone on the field.  Either you have this game and it is contact or you make it flag.  To reduce the defense to a point where if hey hit a player they are ejected from the game is a bit ridiculous.

Offensive line can chop block which can be a career ending block on a defensive player, but they are not tossed.  Quarterbacks can get rid of the ball to avoid the sack or do just about whatever they want to the defensive player, but they are not tossed.  Running backs lead with their helmets, why aren’t they called for targeting and ejected.  With the speed and power of some running backs, they could seriously injure players.  Other offensive players can do just about whatever they want and no one will get ejected from a game.  However, if a defensive player hits a offensive player with his shoulder pads he gets ejected.  Why even have this game?

The reason it is still around is because it brings in money, but I am wondering how much have they lost year after year with fewer and fewer people actually playing the sport and in some areas not attending the games.

I urge people to do other things.  Instead of watching or going to any sporting event, get outside with your family.  Take that time to spend with God.  Take that time to go read or get other stuff done around the house.  Taking some time for yourself is a good thing, but some people will start at 10AM and not stop until midnight.  wow!
