I gave my wife a wonderful Christmas present the other day. If your mind went to the gutter, shame on you. My family was gone for a few days. I decided while they were gone that it would be a great time to clean one of our rooms. I put all of the other stuff in the living room for us to go through when she got home 5 days later. Needless to say she was not too happy when she walked into the house to see the living room full of a lot of stuff for us to go through and it being about 3 days before Christmas. Wasn’t that a great Christmas present.
I will say that while there was a lot of stuff in the living room, she did a great job of going through it all. In the process of cleaning up all of that stuff we are going to get rid of our treadmill which is huge and takes up about a 1/5 of our living room space. She has decided that it is a bad idea for her to leave me home alone for a few days.
To be honest, she has a point. I have been known to go the extremes when she leaves me alone. I one decided to clean the entire house while her and the kids were gone and basically put everything into the living room. There was a huge mound of stuff in the living room when she got back. Needless to say she was not happy then either, but at least it was not 3 days before Christmas. To my credit, I told her what I was going to do this time, but I am not sure she understood the extent of what I was talking about.
While my Christmas present was not so great, I am thankful that God sent His only Son to us, to teach us and pay the ultimate cost for our sins. If each of us had to pay our own sin cost to enter Heaven, well I can say with absolute certainty, that Heaven would be empty. God gave us a gift, lets not abuse it. Thank you Lord for allowing your Son to come to Earth to grant us a path to spend eternity in Heaven with you.
