If you have read any of my posts, you might think that I am preaching hatred especially to those that are extremely liberal. That is the furthest thing from what I want.
I will admit that I am a bit frustrated by the way our society treats others, but the last thing I want is someone to hate someone else for who they are. Remember, we all have sinned
Romans 3:23 New International Version (NIV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We have to remember that God is Love and His Son preached love while He was here on Earth. Jesus told us how to treat others in one very simple message.
Matthew 5:43-48 New International Version (NIV)
Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
The problem is that people are so easily offended these days and they seem to love one another. However, I am not so sure it is love or personal agenda that these people are displaying.
Matthew 24:10-13New International Version (NIV)
10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
I know it is hard for me to love people at times, but with Gods help through Jesus Christ I can overcome this and love others no matter what. Remember that God gave us a definition for love:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8New International Version (NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
If you are struggling with show love towards others also remember this:
Ephesians 6:12-13New International Version (NIV)
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
I pray that you are able to love others as God loves others, but if it is difficult then pray to Him to help you through Jesus Christ.
