Hating God

I know it may seem like God is against you at times, but that is not the case.  He loves you and is not willing to let you go without a fight.  You may think if that is the case, then why just doesn’t He give me everything I want.  If He did that, then where would your focus be?  I cannot guarantee this, but my guess is that your focus would be on the money and material things.  It would not be focused on God and Jesus and spreading the word to others.

It is easy to hate God and we think He tempts but He does not tempt:

James 1:13 New International Version (NIV)

13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;

It does not mean that He will not allow us to be tempted by the Evil One.  However, when we are tempted, God will not allow tempted beyond more than we can handle.

1 Corinthians 10:13New International Version (NIV)

13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Ask Job about cursing God for all the terrible things that happened to him.  His wife wanted him to and his friends thought he had done something to offend God.  The reality was it was a test and God knew that Job would not fail.  Job said it best in the following:

Job 2:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”

In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

We only seem to want to accept the good that God does and when something bad happens, we want to jump up and curse God or blame Him or hate Him.  Why?

We accept the lies that Satan feeds us because we want to believe that God is evil and is allowing us to be harmed.  Also, we do not want to take responsibility for our actions and this allows us to blame someone else for our problems which happens to be God.

God does not hate you nor does He want you to fail.  It is about time that you start realizing this and resist the Devil.  For if you resist the Devil, He will flee.

James 4:7 New International Version (NIV)

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

This does not mean that Satan will stay away.  It does mean that this will be a struggle that will probably last your entire life.  Believe it or not, that is a good thing because that means you are on the right path and the more you resist Satan, the harder He will try.

If you find yourself blaming God, stop and ask why remembering that God is love.  Ask yourself why is this happening?  What am I supposed to learn from this trial?   Why is God allowing me to be tempted?  This will require prayer and time with God.  Are you willing to sacrifice just a little of your time to spend with God?
