One of the most asked questions is, “Is there a God?” or “Is God real?”. For anyone who is a Christian or who has faith, the answer is “Yes!”.
The next question is, “How do you know?”. This is where faith comes in. As Christians, we believe there is a God because of the Bible and our faith. We do not need to physically see Him to know He is real. We just know.
To others, it is not so easy because they were either brought up believing there is no God, or they have questioned His existence because of worldly views and opinions, or they believe the lies being whispered to them by Satan, or they have decided that if God existed then there is no way He would let happen what is happening, or they experienced something negative in church that drove them away, or they do not agree with the moral values in the Bible, or they believe they can do everything on their own, or their own intellect gets in the way and they start to theorize why God does not exist or the secular community has persuaded them with all the scientific evidence that was produced.
Ask yourself these one questions:
- Where did the material come from to create Earth or any planet or any solar system or galaxy or universe? You cannot just say it has always been present. It had to come from somewhere.
- If evolution is real, then where are all the intermediate type creatures? There would have to be some that existed at some point in time.
- If evolution is rare because the right conditions are needed, then how did we get so many different species of animals, plants, archaebacteria, protists, eubacteria, and fungi?
- If the Earth is millions of years old by the dating methods, then why is there contradictory evidence? For example a 40,000 year old piece of wood is encased in a 2,000,000 year old rock. This cannot happen.
- How is the radioactive dating actually done to determine the age or something? You will find that there are an awful a lot of assumptions because without the assumptions, the theory that the Earth is millions of years old starts to fall apart.
So do I believe that God exists, yes. Do I believe that Christ exists, yes. If you are struggling, then all I ask you to do is pray and ask God to help you, what do you have to lose and what do you have to gain. Do not do this in front of others as it is none of their business. Go some place and just talk to God. Either talk to Him in your head or out loud. Since you are alone, there is no one to judge what you are doing.
God may answer you immediately by your inner voice where you feel like someone is talking to you inside your head or He may demonstrate this to you through some other means. Just be open minded about the response. Take a terrorist who hated Americans and Christians. One day he had a crisis of faith and asked his god to show him that he existed. Nothing happened, so he asked God to show him that He existed and immediately a bird appeared in the window. From that moment on he was a Christian.
