Erasing our history

I just heard that the twenty dollar bill with Andrew Jackson will be replaced by Harriet Tubman.  Our country is trying its best to eliminate anything to do with slavery.

Sorry folks, it is a part of our past and as long as we continue to live as though it is happening in the present we will never get past this.  To waste as much money as is needed to re-engrave the 20 dollar plates is ludicrous.

I live in Virginia if you have not figured that out and within the past five years, historians went through the history books that the Virginia Education System used and found hundreds of errors in the facts.  The fact that this book got accepted with so many errors tells me that the people who are responsible for our education are trying to rewrite history the way they want it.

I asked my children questions about history that I learned growing up and I was told over and over, that they were not taught that and in fact they were taught something completely different if at all.  My question is why?

How can history have changed so much in 40 pr so years?  I am not talking about the time from 1970 to 2010, of course that has changed.  I am referring to the Pilgrims, our Founding Fathers, the Revolutionary War, Slavery, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict.

It has changed because there is a movement in this country to

  1. Dumb down Americans as a friend of mine says
  2. Gain control of the people
  3. Change the Constitution
  4. The list could go on and on

My wife came up with a good theory.  If we can start with Andrew Jackson and make him into a villain, and eventually spread that all of our Founding Fathers were villains or evil in someway, then the American people may agree with a rewriting of the Constitution.  When that happens, all of those first 10 Amendments will be gone.

So my advice is be careful about rewriting history. Take what the teachers are currently telling you with a grain of salt or whatever super tiny spec you can think of and go learn the truth for yourself.

Speaking of truth, if you want the real truth, then turn towards Christ.  He said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life.  By turning to Christ, you will not only understand the truth, but you will also gain freedom. Most do not think of Christianity as being freedom, but more of dos and don’ts.  This could not be further from the truth.  Realize I did not say Catholicism, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, etc.  Those are religions, I am talking about being a follower of Christ.
