Growth

All of us as kids will grow to become adults unless something strange happens, but that is not what this is about.  This has to do with Spiritual Growth.

We could remain stunted and acts as children or adolescents, but that is not what God wants.  He wants us to grow to reach Spiritual Maturity.

So what exactly is Spiritual Growth? Well, that is very difficult to explain.

1 Peter 2:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Spiritual Growth will typically look like:

  1. Taking learning the Bible to a new level.
  2. Learning to obey God more and more.
  3. Learning to serve others instead of yourself.
  4. Learning to share who Christ is.
  5. Learning to build relationships with God and others.
  6. Learning to seek God.
  7. Learning to trust God and rely upon Him.
  8. Learning that I must accept Christ as my Lord and Savior.
  9. Learning what faith really means
  10. Learning that believing in Christ and God is not something to be ashamed of.
  11. Learning what it really means to be a disciple.

There are so many ways to describe spiritual growth.  Yet it incorporates all of what I have above plus I am sure there are others that I did not think of.

Ask God where you are spiritually.  I cannot guarantee that He will answer how or when you want, but this is the first place to start.   If you have not figured out by now, the very first place to go is to God through prayer.
