Love is not proud

I talked about envy and boasting, so what is different about love is not proud?

From Merriam-Webster online dictionary, proud means: feeling or showing pride, such as having or displaying excessive self-esteem.

From Cambridge online dictionary proud means: feeling satisfaction and pleasure because of something that you have achieved, possess, or are a part of, or having respect for yourself, or showing feelings of your own worth, or they may have too high an opinion of themselves.

I am sure you could do a search and find all kinds of meanings for love is not proud. To me it means that when you love others, it is not about you. If you are so self-absorbed with loving yourself, then how can you ever love another.

Love is not proud can also mean to stop being so selfish with whatever it is that may be holding you up from having a great relationship. Selfishness and pride are worldly traits and it is not what God wants from any of us.

I know I am selfish and have pride at times, do you? Is it something that you want to change? If so, then you know the drill. Start with praying to God and asking Him for help.
