I was very upset when people wanted to tear down the Confederate monuments, but not because I believe in slavery, I do not, but I believe in making sure our history is not forgotten or rewritten. Yes I believe there is a push torewrite history so we will forget about slavery and the Civil War and that cannot happen with statues up and reminding us of our past.
With that said, that is not what this post is really about. Instead, it has to with why do some want to keep the Civil War or for that fact any monuments up?
Monuments should only be up as reminders of our history. If we are putting up monuments to worship, then they all need to come down. Why you may ask?
Well it has to do with false idols. The Israelite’s made a monument in the form of a golden calf to worship. So why are the monuments up all across the country? Do they actually take focus away from the Lord? Unfortunately, I do not know the answer.
I can ask this question, why do you want the monuments up? I am not just talking about the Confederate monuments, I am talking about all of them. Are they there to remind you of something or for you to praise and worship? Do they take your focus away from God?
I pray that the Lord enlightens you and shows you why you want these monuments to remain standing.
