There are many kinds of abuse. This will be talking about physical abuse.
So what is physical abuse? It is the intentional act to cause injury or trauma to another person or animal by physical contact. When humans are involved, it can be directed towards children or adults.
One of the major areas is physical domestic violence. This is where one person physically abuses another in a relationship.
Most of these abusers are men and there has been a large number who are physically abusing children and women. Why?
Abusers think that the person deserves the abuse, they are entitled to give it, they think it is an acceptable form of behavior, or they think it will not be reported. It does not matter what they think, they know it is wrong.
Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself. He did not say do to your neighbor whatever you want as long as you are ok with it to get what you want.
Are you an abuser or are you being abused? No matter which one it is, you need help, but the help will be different. For those that are being physically abused, get out now. No matter what the other person says, they are not going to change unless they get God involved, but that does not mean you should still stay in that relationship unless you have been directed by God to stay there. If the abuser does get help from God, you will see the changed. Typically, people who stay in an abusive relationship typically end of being permanently injured or killed and God does not want this for you.
I pray that if you are an abuser or you are being abused that you are asking God for help. God is there to protect you, but you have to seek Him.
