Plan for the Future

When I was growing up, I would see my father sitting in his chair constantly calculating and recalculating.  I remember asking him what he was doing and it was two-fold.

The first he was determining how much money he could spend on stocks.  The second thing was that he was preparing for his retirement.

Many of us today do not prepare for the future.  We just kind of wing it from day to day and week to week. In other words, we really have no future goals.

With the way our country is, it is easy to see why.  Our country is all about living for the moment and letting the future take care of its self.  Then when it comes time to retire, the way we lived can no longer be supported and often we come up short month after month.

If we plan our spiritual future the way we have planned our fleshly future, then it is no wonder why so many of us are in trouble.  God expects us to read the Bible and to accept His son as our Lord and Savior.  He also expects us to be obedient to His word.  So start planning now before it is too late.  In other words, God expects us to plan our spiritual future and not just wing it.
