We had a family outing yesterday and went to see “Rogue One”. I will say that it was great going out with the family, but the movie was not that good. Thankfully, it was not as bad as the “Force Awakens”.
I am sure that people out there will disagree with me, but that is the beauty of an opinion. You cannot be wrong, opinions are just that. They are neither right or wrong nor are they the truth or a lie.
There are a lot of sayings around truth in today’s culture such as:
- “That may be true for you, but it’s not true for me.”
- “Everybody has their own truth”
- “We’re not looking for truth here; we’re looking for facts.”
Lets start with a definition of truth: That which is true or in accordance with fact or reality and the definition of reality is: the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.
So if we put all that together, we have the following truth is in accordance with the state of things as they actually exist as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. When Christ said I am the truth, He was saying I exist and I am the ultimate reality. He was saying “do not listen to men, they will lead you astray. Listen and read what I have taught. If you believe in me and follow my ways and follow what I have commanded you to do, you will have eternal life in Heaven”. In other words in order to enter Heaven and spend eternity with the Father, you have to go through Christ.
