The Jews were slaves for many generations until God decided that His people shall be free. The problem was that most of them did not really know they were slaves. This is just like today.
Slavery today is illegal in the US, but yet thousands upon thousands are slaves to the Federal government and they do not even know it. You may be wondering why I say people are slaves to the government. So let me try to explain.
The Left who put in all this welfare does not want people to get out there an try and either succeed or fail. Instead this government wants to hand out money in the forms of food stamps, WIC, fuel assistance, housing assistance, etc., all in the name of trying to help those that really need it. Wouldn’t it be better to spend that money on their education to help them becoming people who contribute to society versus taking from society. This to me leads to people becoming slaves.
You may be thinking, huh! How does the government helping people lead to them becoming slaves. Slaves depend upon their masters for everything. The people who are on welfare depend upon the federal government for everything. So ultimately, those that depend on the any government to live are essentially their slaves. In other words, they are not free to really do as they choose, but instead are subject to what ever the government says they can do and they can own.
For now you may have a little more freedom, but as more and more people rely upon any government for their well being, the will have to give up something. Take PA, currently to get medical marijuana which is government controlled, you have to give up your second amendment rights. So do not think that will not happen with other forms of governmental help.
Now we are all slaves to something believe it or not. We are either slaves to God where we rely upon Him or to man or to money. The question is which one do you choose?
I would much rather choose to be a slave to God and serve Him versus man or money. I say this, but I also like my hobbies and other stuff. So who am I slave too? I pray that you choose wisely and realize as Solomon did that almost everything is meaningless on Earth. I really urge you to read all of Proverbs to get Solomon and his ways.
