Trust

Trust is a hard thing and it seems like everyone is just suspicious these days.  When someone does something, people have a tendency not to trust anyone.  Take all these scammers that are calling or emailing to get you to do something that involved money.  In the end all you do is get hurt then it becomes almost impossible for you to trust anyone again.

So why do people fall for this, well it is greed.  They see an opportunity to make money and despite what their instincts are telling them, they are willing to risk it all for that chance to earn some big bucks.

So why do you blame the other person when you end up getting scammed and lose everything you own?  Whose fault is it? This is going to be a shocker so sit down if you are not, it is YOUR FAULT.  Anything that sounds too good to be true, is.  So stop trying to take short cuts.

If you want to become rich, you can serve that god and chase the almighty dollar.  Or, you can trust the Lord to provide as He sees fit and accept the level of income you are currently at.  Think of it this way from the following parable as told by Christ:

Matthew 25:14-30 New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Bags of Gold

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Why would the Lord trust anyone who is only focused on themselves?  If you focus on others, that will be reward enough.  When you start to produce more talent, or in this case start to demonstrate and talk to others about Christ, then and only then do I think the Lord will give you more responsibility because you are full filling the Great Commission.

However, as long as you are focused on your needs and not spreading the word, I believe He will give you less and less responsibility.  Who suffers from this selfish desire? If you are thinking those that you have not talked too, you are wrong.  It is also you because you are not living up to the potential that the Lord has laid before you.  I personally believe that He will take away responsibility as long as you continue to follow your own life path.

I pray that you are able to see the error in your ways and if you are praying for financial success, that you realize that is not Gods job.  It is your job to demonstrate to the Lord that you are able to handle more responsibility in all areas of your life.  I pray that he grants you wisdom to understand his word.  In Jesus name I pray for these things, Amen!
