This will probably result in many posts.
The message this past Sunday was about God and His love. However, lets face it there are many who do not believe that God loves them or anyone for that matter. This is because they have been lied too about what God should be like.
One of the questions that is often asked is “Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?”
You can do the greatest things on the face of the planet and still go to Hell. See Matthew 25:41-56. We cannot earn our way into Heaven.
God did not intend for bad things to happen to us, but we chose a different path due to our free will and our ability to be easily deceived. We decided to sin against God. You may think that you did not have a choice and you are correct. Adam and Eve made the decision for all of man kind and we have to live with that decision.
Romans 6:23 New International Version (NIV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So I can only imagine then that you are asking then why do I have to pay for their sins? Or you are saying that it is not fair. Because they sinned, sin is passed down from generation to generation. As for it not being fair, all I can say is deal with it and grow-up.
Romans 3:23 New International Version (NIV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Even though we have all sinned, God provided a way for us to spend eternity with Him. So is God really allowing bad things to happen to good people or are the good people choosing to not accept the greatest gift God has ever given?
