What is your Bible?
I originally had another post planned for today, but I believe God was directing me to write this one instead. This will be a short and simple post.
I ask this question because as Christians our bible should be the Bible. However, I believe that in today’s society for a lot of American Christians and myself is included in this group that at times my bible may be the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I say this because so many of us are willing to use these documents as a guiding point for how we are suppose to live.
We talk about all the rights we as Americans have such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to bear arms, protection from unreasonable search and seizure as well as all the other amendments. However, what should our focus really be on? The answer is the Bible. I do believe the Constitution and Bill of Rights are important documents, but they should not be our primary focus.
Why should we focus on the Bible? It shows us how God will bless us, it shows how God will protect and provide for us, it shows what happens when we are disobedient to Gods will, it gives us clear direction on how we are supposed to live, it gives us clear direction on how we are to treat others, it provides us with tools to defeat spiritual enemies, and it provides a path for eternal life in Heaven. So as an American Christian, what should your bible be?
