Giving up on God

People get frustrated way too easily with God these days.  We ignore Him at every chance we get.  We get mad when He does grant our every wish.  We blame Him for everything.  Then we just give up on Him.  Why?

There are several reasons why we give on Him:

  • We lose patience with Him
  • We get jealous when we view other people as being more successful than our selves.
  • Things get tough and we cannot handle it.
  • Bad things happen to them yet they think they are good and do not deserve being treated that way.
  • We believe what we want.
  • We are focused on the world and earthly desires.
  • We feel that God does answer our prayers ever.
  • God just lets things happen, but He does not intervene.

Have I about covered them all?  Probably not, but that is not important.

All I have to say is what a bunch of crap.  Boo hoo!

I know that is not very sensitive of me, but you know what, I do not care.  Get over yourself.

There are many things in my life that did not turn out the way I wanted them too.  I did not want to travel, I did not want to be a consultant, I did not want to get fat, I did not want to get weak, I did not want to be dumb, and I most certainly did not want to take responsibility for things in my life.  But guess what, I did all of those things and it has not hurt me yet.

Did I give up on God?  Yes I did.  If you read any of the other stuff on the website, then you know I went from being a Christian to an atheist, back to being a Christian.

I became an atheist because of unrealistic expectations on my part.  I became a Christian agan because God loved me enough to show me the error of my ways.  While I temporarily gave up on God, He never gave up on me.  I am so thankful for that.

So if you are in a dark place and have given up on God, I pray that this post will help you and lead you back to Him.  Remember that it takes a very long long time for God to give up on you and believe this or not I firmly believe that it breaks His heart whenever He does.

I ask you to pray to God to show you what He has planned for you so that it will help restore your faith.
