People just frustrate the snot out of me. Today a Volvo truck driver decided to turn left on a red light while it was green for all of us. He just took his good old sweet time and could not understand why people were mad at him. Then we have others that drive very slow in the left lane and give people looks like why are you going so fast or passing me on the right.
What it boils down to, is that people are selfish in that they only think of themselves all the time. I know many of you will comment aren’t you thinking of your own needs as well.
I do not block intersections, I do not impede others by going slow in the left lane. I use turn signals to indicate what I am doing, nor do I fly through parking lots to get the one parking spot.
I am not perfect and in fact, I am sure I frustrate others when I pass on the right or get on their bumpers to get over into the right lane. I get a lot of looks when people are just cruising below the speed limit in the left lane and I kind of push them to go faster than they like and get over into the right lane.
It does not have to be my way or the highway, but there are rules of the road and yes one of them is going the speed limit. With that said, you are not supposed to travel in the left lane. You are supposed to pass and then get back over and for the most part that is what I do unless I am quickly approaching another car to pass. I slow up or speed up when I am in the right lane and approaching the entrance/exit ramps depending on the situation, but so many people speed up regardless causing those merging to slam on their breaks.
Yes, most of my frustrations are drivers. For me, this all started about 20 to 30 years ago. I am not sure what changed as I use to be pretty flexible and less upset when driving. I think it all changed when I was going to college. One day I got stubborn and decided that I was sick and tired of people driving like morons not caring about anything other themselves.
What I found funny is that there was a large study done in CA where they told people to basically slow up and give themselves more space between vehicles. Nowhere did I see them say learn to follow the rules of the road and if you are going slower stay in the right lane and leave the left lane open for passing. Nor did I read/hear them say that people should use turn signals or people should pay attention or stay off the phones.
I feel that God is presenting me with these situations so I will change. Believe it or not, the change is coming but slowly. I am not as aggravated as I used to be. I typically find my peace when thinking about Jesus and God.
