I get into a lot of discussion these days about sports. People will start throwing names out and typically I have no idea who they are talking about. Do not get me wrong, I love sports, but I cannot stand the collegiate or professional sports of today. To me everyone of these games is fixed to some degree.
Dana White of the UFC said this once and I am recalling from memory so search it yourself to be sure my facts are 100% correct. He said that this is about entertainment. He also followed up with some additional information such as If a person comes in and routinely knocks someone out in the first round, then the chances of them being invited back to the UFC are remote. He went on to explain that people pay a lot of money for their tickets and expect to see a good fight.
I know a lot of people were like what happened to Ronda Rousey? I have no proof of this, but since she has taken out her opponents with just a few seconds of the match starting, I think someone talked to her. I can imagine that a person walked into her locker room and basically told her that she cannot take out Holly Holm within the first few seconds of the match starting. When you look at Ronda, she looked somewhat confused like I cannot do that or I cannot do this because I cannot take her out in this round. Do I think the UFC expected her to win, yes, but because she could not do the stuff she had planned it left her vulnerable to Holly knocking her out. I believe that all sports are fixed or interred with to some degree.
To me the current sports are no longer a competition between myself such as in Golf, between one other person such as in boxing, or between two teams such as in football, but rather it is about creating as much drama as possible to keep the people entertained and to keep them glued to the tv set. The world series would normally have gone 7 games as so many have over the past 10+ years, but because the numbers were down I think the industry decided to cut their losses and let the Royals win it in 5 games so they could move on to more lucrative prospects.
People say that I am crazy, but look at the number of basketball games that were fixed, the number of soccer games, etc. There is big money in sports and if people are not watching then the advertisers are losing. If they can keep people interested, then they will gamble more. I am not a gambler but I was recently in Vegas with my wife who was attending a conference. I spoke to some of the people when the colts vs pats game was on. They were all excited because they were getting ready to bet more money on the 2nd half. I thought once you bet that was done, but no you can bet on each half etc.
I also remember when the bears played the pats and it was such a slaughter fest that people stopped watching the game around half-time. Those advertisers were mad and made statements about this will not happen anymore. Remember the ravens vs the 49ers, really the lights spontaneously go out after the ravens score a touchdown that makes the game look like a blow out. Then after the lights come back on the 49ers just all of a sudden have everything figured out and look the game is so much closer now. All I have to say is really?
Then you look at all the rule changes that have occurred throughout all the sports. It is an effort to make sure that the so called superstars are on the field at all times because that is what the fans expect.
So do I think every game is fixed? Yes because there is just way to much money involved and for most people that is their god. More importantly do I think God cares about sports? I believe he does because he cares about everything that happens to his children. If sports can bring him glory, then yes. However, once sports starts to give Satan glory and worships another god, like it currently is, then I think he starts to get a tad upset. Understand that is just my thoughts. I am not the Lord and therefore cannot really speak for him. I advise you to seek guidance from Him through Christ
I just pray that you will open your eyes to what is really going on around you. Open your hearts and minds to accept the Lord and understand his word. I pray that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Have a blessed day!
