Sweet Tooth

I have a real bad sweet tooth. Once I eat something with sugar in it, it is like I need to eat and eat and eat until I make myself sick. But why?

I am sure it has something to do with a chemical imbalance. Research says that when we eat sugar, opioids and dopamine are released. Sugar can also be a mood-booster as it prompts the body to release the ‘happy hormone’ serotonin into the bloodstream.

I wish I were like my wife, she can eat a single piece of chocolate from a bar with 10+ pieces and put the rest up for later. I, on the other hand, will eat that entire bar as well as another and another. Take ice cream. I make peppermint ice cream around Christmas and I have to say it tastes awesome, but I could easily sit down and eat all two quarts which I know is not heatly.

Eating sugar is like any other addiction. Once you have one taste, you want another and another and another until you are sick.

So how does one avoid eating sugar or at least get it under control? The great professionals say just stop eating it and the cravings will go away. Gee, thanks that was super helpful and cleared everything right up. We all know that with any addiction, we can just walk away at any time right? Nope, it is not that simple.

I will pray to God and ask for help and then come back tomorrow to discuss some options. Pray that He gives some good insight so I can relay that information to you.
