I believe in the Constitution and consider it to be one of the most important documents in the US. However, did I place more importance in this than God and His word? Did I place more importance in this than Jesus?
The answer to both is yes.
There is talk in my state of the politicians putting in place gun laws that not only violate the US Constitution, but the State Constitution as well. Everyone that owns a gun is up in arms over this and Second Amendment sanctuary counties and cities are popping up at an alarming rate. You would think this would speak volumes to our politicians, but it will not.
The problem is that we are all forgetting one thing, no one and I mean no one comes to power except by God. So why did God place such a tyrannical governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, senate, and house in charge over it’s citizens? To help us learn to rely upon Him and not ourselves.
We need to remember God’s chosen people. There would be seasons of good leaders and then seasons of bad. During the good leaderss, the people would forget about God over a period of time and during the times of bad, they would start to remember who He was and call out to Him to save them. He would each and every time.
I feel like we are headed towards bad times with leaders that have turned their backs on God and we are following suit. But unlike then when the people were not well armed, we are today and as such I fear that people are going to get hurt.
I point all of this out, because we essentially asked for this when we put more importance in our Constitution’s than God. Essentially, the Constitution’s became our gods. We live by the Constitution, not by how Christ taught us. We do not behave in any way shape or form the way God wants us to behave. Is it any wonder our country is in the state it is when we have forgotten who God is and what He did for us?
I urge anyone that reads this to start putting God first. Ask for His forgiveness. Ask Him to show you were you have sinned in your life. Make things right with God through Jesus. Do not worry about man, Satan, or the world for they cannot do anything that God does not want to happen. Also remember this, be thankful in al situations and I mean all.
