Traveling to rest

I told my wife I needed to travel for work just so I could get some rest.  I was half joking when I said it, but it was the truth.

We are supposed to take a Sabbath to relax and recoup, but the past two weeks were extremely busy.  Built my son a desk top and my daughter a bed.  Had to do work related activities as well.  Pretty much everyday I got up around 6:30AM and went to bed after 1:30AM.  On top of that I did not want to give up my exercise routine so I lifted weights Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Plus I had to do a bunch of work around the house. I was not super hungry so I did not eat much as well. All of this added up to the point where I was super tired and basically last night I fell asleep super early at night.

What does all of this mean?  God does not need to rest, but has shown and told us what we are supposed to do so we do not get burned out or let ourselves get led astray.  Getting burned out is one of the things that causes us to make mistakes and get angry.  Plus when we keep the Sabbath, we are more likely to focus on the Lord and His wishes for us.  When we work all the time, that is typically to earn money, which could then become our new God.

What I am saying is that yes there may be times when you have to do a lot of work, but honor God by at least resting one day as He instructed.  Do not do as I just did and work everyday for two weeks.  Now I am wondering if I had rested at least one day would I have gotten the work done faster?
