I have a coworker that was recently arrested by the Airport Police and put into a mental institution for 36 hours. By her account she did nothing wrong, but was brutalized with a concussion and bruising.
It all started when she left her computer bag on the plane by accident. She went to one of the flight attendants and they instructed her to go to TSA. She went to TSA and spoke with them and was instructed to take a seat. She complied.
Two hours later, no bag so she went and spoke to the TSA agent to inquire about her bag and was shot an nasty look. She sat back down and about 5 minutes later, here come 3 large male Airport Police. They speak to the TSA agent and then go over to the lady who left the bag.
They asked her to stand up and took her purse. She asked what are you doing? They they and asked her to put her hands behind her back. She was confused and asked what? They asked if she was resisting arrest and she repeated what? They threw her to the ground, bruised her body, and gave her a concussion, then they informed her that she was being arrested for Disorderly Conduct or she could go to a mental institution for evaluation.
She chose the mental institution. While there, she was told by a counselor that this particular airport send 3 or more people every week there for evaluation. Someone is getting a kickback of some kind.
During all of this, she was denied due process. She could not call a lawyer or her husband or anyone to let them know where she was or what was going on. Her husband received a phone call from the airline company saying they found her computer bag which freaked him out, so he called the police and filed a missing persons report. He was mad and scared and had a right to be so.
Apparently we are not allowed to express anger or question authorities or express concern or anything because it could be considered disorderly. Look up the laws regarding Disorderly Conduct in most states. They are pretty lose and can be interpreted in a wide variety of ways all because of one little phrase “likely to upset or alarm others”.
What an abuse of power. It is no wonder why the police, flight attendants, and the TSA are hated and why the current judicial system seems to be unfair. I instructed her to file a law suit, but she was afraid of being put on the “No Fly List”.
I personally struggle and am frustrated by the abuse of power I see at all levels. Politicians steal from the American people, but are not imprisoned. Our President blatantly ignores the Constitution and any laws he does not agree with, but is not impeached. Police kill, but are set free and even allowed to keep their jobs. Lawyers take out student loans, but then file for bankruptcy so they can avoid paying them back. Judges let friends get away with crimes because they know the family. Flight attendants can kick you off the plane just because. TSA can detain you for as long as they like without due process. You can be labeled a terrorist and lose all your Constitutional rights.
This then reminds me of Saul who was in ultimate power as king of Israel who was given a direct order by God, but thought he was above those orders so he blatantly ignored them. This lead to Saul being rejected by the Lord and David was chosen. Saul would not have been in power if it were not for the people of Israel demanding a king. God granted them their wish and gave them Saul.
We too are to blame for what is happening now. We have allowed the Federal, State, and Local governments to act as our protectors because that is what we expect them to do. God has granted us our wish and now we do not like it. There is only one that is in ultimate charge and the sooner we realize that, the better off we will be.
God is the ultimate ruler. He is Lord over all. He created all and can destroy all. He loves all and wants everyone to be with Him, but He will not force you.
Since we have demanded rulers and God has granted us our desire and only rulers can be put into their positions by God, then who are we to hate what God has done for us.
We should instead turn towards God and ask him for forgiveness and to guide is making choices that He would be proud of instead of living for our own needs. If would only accept God as our ruler and follow what He has already laid out for us through the scripture, there would be no need for those that are in power. Yes that is an ideal world and unfortunately so many people are influenced or possessed by Satan.
